HOW TO HOST A FAIRY TEA PARTY

As the leaves turn to crimson and the air grows crisp, a special kind of magic stirs...

While some may embrace ghouls and goblins this Halloween, we're inviting a different kind of guest to the festivities: the fairies!  

You don’t have to be little to tap into the same childlike whimsy and wonder. Tea parties are delightful fun for all ages! In the spirit of friendship and the changing season, I've created this special fairy tea party to celebrate the transition from summer to fall with shared moments over tea and enchanting rituals.

PARTY PLANNING:

DECORATION 

• PRO TIP: wherever possible, I highly suggest borrowing or getting these second hand

• Table cloths (you can also use large bits of fabric or sheets)

• Candles and Candleholders

• These create a fantastic ambience!

• You can find candle holders and candles at thrift stores second hand or you can make your own!

• I made my own using recycled glass bottles

• Flowers! - Hang dried or fresh strings of flowers everywhere!

  • I used many dried bouquets my friends have given me over the years as well as some fresh bouquets I picked in friends yards.

  • I borrowed these from a local ballet and theater group I’ve worked with. 

• Pick these, ask friends to bring them, or buy them from local shops!

• Make or buy fake flowers to fill in the gaps!

• Blankets and Pillows! Create a very relaxed lounge feeling

• Fairy Lights and String Lights, focus on soft and sparkly lighting

• Tea ware and serving ware

MAGICAL MOCKTAILS...& TEA, OF COURSE!

• I used tea.o.graphy's magical mocktail kit for an extra bit of whimsy and magic.   This kit has everything you need for a fairy's kiss!  It's dramatic color-changing properties transforming a brilliant azure blue liquid into a mystical purple or magenta with a splash of citrus or combining with hibiscus!  

• PRO TIP:  I added edible glitter to our mocktails.  Our favorite edible glitter can be found here!

From the first glittery invitation to the last bite of a mushroom carved radish, we've shown that Halloween doesn't have to be all screams and scares. It can also be a little bit sweet.
